This was a compilation of the first overlanders who traveled over Naches Pass in 1853. It is believed that there can be no complete and absolutely correct list of the first overlanders who traveled over Naches Pass in 1853 for two reasons. It is unfortunate that no list was made at the time of the journey. Secondly, the lists that were compiled were done so 30-40 years later when memories were dim. The 11 accounts used for this list do not agree and some are vague. But this list stands as the best compilation of the 11 accounts in the compiler's opinion. The list contains the individual's name, often a birth date and place, where they settled and occupations.
